Agenda for Navajo Nation

land reform

Our collective future as a nation hinges on land reform. Land is the most important issue for us moving forward, it affects all other conversations; resources, development, health and education. We need meaningful and comprehensive land reform by 2030.

No new uranium mining

One of our most important and progressive laws is the Diné Natural Resources Act of 2005. I will work to protect our ban on uranium mining.

Downsize President’s office

For years the Navajo Nation President’s office has been growing in number of personnel and cost ($$$$). It is NOT a critical part of our government and does NOT provide services to Diné. I pledge to remove all nonessential peoples, such as lawyers and public relations officers, to streamline governance and save $$$$.

Sustainable development

Since at least 2005, Diné activists, organizers, entrepreneurs, academics, and public officials have been thinking about renewable energy development in the Navajo Nation. Let’s get that started. We have the Green Jobs Acts passed in 2009. We have people with experience as high as the Department of Energy. Within the Division of Economy Development I propose to create an Office of Sustainability to work on home electrification and the possibilities of large scale wind and solar throughout the Navajo Nation.

Sustaining our nation;

Protecting our land;

Defending our sovereignty.
